This year’s tournament will provide an exciting opportunity to network, promote your company, and have some fun playing the beautiful LeBaron Hills course!  The tournament will be played in a 2-Ball Bramble format with prizes awarded to the top three teams.  The day begins with registration and lunch at 11:30 a.m., followed by a shotgun start at 12:30 p.m., networking and hors d’oeuvres at 5:00 p.m., and concludes with a buffet dinner and awards ceremony at 6:00 p.m.

The registration fee includes boxed lunch, golf cart, 18-holes of golf, bottled water during play, golfer’s gift bag, awards ceremony, and dinner. Proceeds of this tournament support the efforts of the New Bedford Area Chamber of Commerce in our mission to advocate for business advancement, economic growth, and job creation for the benefit of New Bedford and the SouthCoast region of Massachusetts.

The State Office of Minority and Women Business Assistance (SOMWBA) is conducting a certification seminar on Tuesday September 23, 2008. SOMWBA certification is a marketing tool used to enhance a firm's ability to do business in public markets. The Commonwealth of Massachusetts spends more than $4 million each year doing business with firms. More than $240 million of this amount is targeted to SOMWBA certified minority and women owned businesses. Although certification does not guarantee that a business will be successful every time it bids, it may add a competitive edge to a bid.
