Treasurer Grossman Keynote Speaker for Annual Legislative Luncheon

The New Bedford Area Chamber of Commerce will bring Beacon Hill to the Greater New Bedford Area when it hosts Treasurer Steven Grossman as the keynote speaker at its 2012 SouthCoast Legislative Luncheon at the Century House, 107 South Main Street, Acushnet, on Thursday, April 12, 2012. The event is co-sponsored by Southcoast Hospitals GroupSouthern Mass Credit Union and SouthCoast Media Group.

Treasurer Grossman will be discussing his priorities and legislative agenda. Afterwards, attendees will have the opportunity to participate in a Question & Answer session with the Treasurer.

Steven Grossman was elected Treasurer and Receiver General of the Commonwealth of Massachusetts in 2010. He spent the last 35 years creating jobs, managing money, dealing with crises, and finding commonsense solutions to problems as CEO of Grossman Marketing Group in Somerville, a 100-year-old, fourth-generation family business. He grew the company’s revenues eightfold, entering new markets and repositioning the company to meet the challenges of an evolving economy. He is committed to using the full potential of the Treasurer’s office to protect the public’s money, help create jobs, boost small businesses, and bring new standards of transparency and disclosure to state government.

 The SouthCoast Legislative Luncheon is an opportunity for business and community leaders to meet with legislators and hear first hand what is in store on Beacon Hill for the business community. Invited legislators include Senators Mark Montigny and Michael Rodrigues; Representatives Antonio Cabral, Robert Koczera, Susan Williams Gifford, Christopher Markey, Keiko Orrall, Paul A. Schmid, David B. Sullivan, William M. Straus and others.

 Check-in for the event starts at 11:45 a.m., with the luncheon beginning at 12 noon. The cost of the event is $35 for members and $45 for non-members, with tables of 10 also available.
